Our client is a large, established provider of facility services and professional engineering solutions, supporting complex real estate portfolios across multiple regions. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Professional Services group in Toronto. This position focuses on the design and delivery of building electrical systems across new and existing facilities, including base building systems, tenant improvements, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

You will operate as a senior individual contributor, while also providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other electrical engineers within the team. The role offers the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with engineers, architects, facility teams, and CAD professionals to deliver high-quality electrical designs across a diverse project portfolio.

Electrical

Design & Project Delivery Independently manage multiple concurrent electrical design projects, including: Coordination and oversight of CAD production Project financials, budgets, and timelines Develop electrical engineering designs for building systems, including: Life safety and fire alarm systems Renewable energy generation and energy storage systems Support the design of electric vehicle charging infrastructure for new and existing facilities Provide electrical design support for tenant fit-ups and mechanical equipment upgrades Carry designs from project initiation through completion, including: Technical reports and calculationsDesign specifications and construction drawings Collaborate closely with architectural, mechanical,



and facility management teams to ensure integrated and coordinated designs Leadership & Practice Support Provide mentorship and technical support to junior and intermediate engineers Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering processes, quality control measures, and best practices Support the maintenance and enhancement of standard specifications, design details, and technical libraries Act as a senior technical resource for electrical engineering deliverables across the practice Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering and design Strong background in consulting engineering environments Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and provincial building codes Proven experience designing building and site electrical systems, including power, lighting, and life safety systems Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment Bilingual proficiency (English/French) considered an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common engineering/design tools Knowledge of building mechanical systems considered an asset Experience interfacing directly with clients and stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university Engineering licensure in other provinces is considered an asset Senior-level technical role with meaningful influence on design quality and standards Exposure to a broad range of building electrical and infrastructure projects Collaborative, professional engineering setting Opportunity to mentor and shape developing engineering talent Retirement or savings programs (e.g., RRSP or pension) Performance-based incentives, where applicable Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Artificial intelligence (AI) is not used to screen, assess, or make hiring decisions for this role.
