Electrical Engineer — NOMAD

Location: On-site, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Job Overview The Electrical Engineer will serve as the onsite electrical engineering and manufacturing support resource at our manufacturing facility. This role will work closely with corporate engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and production teams to support BESS builds, electrical integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production readiness. The position will focus on ensuring engineering requirements are properly implemented on the manufacturing floor, resolving technical issues in real time, maintaining accurate engineering documentation, and supporting safe, high-quality production.

This is an on-site role based at NOMAD's Montreal, Quebec manufacturing facility, supporting the electrical engineering needs of our current build program and future build cycles. The role carries a significant project management component. You will work daily, in office, with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable, and scalable energy storage solutions, with occasional travel to other production facilities and customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Build Execution & Project Management

- Serve as the electrical engineering for the current and future production builds, embedded on-site to resolve design and engineering questions in real time as the build progresses. • Support the project plan for ongoing and future builds and reworks— schedules, resource allocation, dependency tracking, and risk/issue logs.




- Coordinate daily and weekly build-readiness activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to prevent line stoppages and rework.
- Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) during active builds, assessing schedule and cost impact before implementation.
- Report build status, risks, and mitigation plans to engineering and operations leadership on a regular cadence.
- Coordinate with electrical and controls ors supporting design and build-support work, including scheduling and scope management.

Electrical Engineering & Manufacturing Support

- Provide electrical engineering support to the manufacturing site for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) products and related electrical assemblies.
- Support the manufacturing team in interpreting and implementing electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, BOMs, and other engineering documentation.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between the corporate engineering team, manufacturer, suppliers, and production teams to resolve electrical engineering and manufacturing issues.
- Review electrical designs and documentation for manufacturability, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian electrical codes and standards.
- Support the integration and assembly of AC/DC power distribution systems, high-voltage battery systems, switchgear, protection devices, control systems,



auxiliary power systems, and related equipment at the manufacturing site.
- Provide technical guidance during panel builds, electrical assembly, wiring, harnessing, controls integration, and system-level assembly activities.
- Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, BMS, communications, and control-system integration by working with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Review and maintain electrical BOMs, work instructions, drawings, manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and engineering change documentation to ensure the manufacturer is working from the latest approved information.
- Identify manufacturing, assembly, and electrical integration issues and work with the appropriate engineering teams to develop and implement corrective actions.

Testing, Compliance & Quality Support

- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), functional testing, electrical testing, and system validation activities at the manufacturing site.
- Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for electrical and system-level issues identified during manufacturing and testing.
- Support compliance and certification activities, including coordination with internal engineering teams, manufacturers, testing laboratories, inspectors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), as required.
- Support adherence to applicable standards and requirements, including the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1), NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, UL 9540, UL 508A, CSA standards, and applicable site and customer requirements.
- Assist with manufacturing readiness activities, including production build reviews, first-article builds, engineering changes, issue tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
