Role: Tech Lead – SharePoint Migration & Delivery

Role Summary

Lead end-to-end SharePoint migration delivery—from discovery and solution design through execution, cutover, and stabilization—while ensuring secure, compliant, and low-disruption migration to SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the technical migration strategy, architecture, delivery plan, and migration-wave schedule for on-premises, cloud, tenant-to-tenant, and legacy-content migrations.
- Assess source sites, content, metadata, permissions, workflows, customizations, integrations, compliance needs, and migration blockers.
- Define the target SharePoint Online information architecture, taxonomy, security model, retention controls, and governance standards.
- Lead pilots, migration execution, validation, cutover, rollback planning, hypercare, defect resolution, and technical sign-off.
- Configure and optimize migration tools, mappings, scripts, reports, exception handling, and reusable runbooks.
- Modernize or remediate legacy workflows, forms, web parts, and integrations for SharePoint Online and Power Platform.
- Establish reconciliation controls for content, metadata, version history, permissions, links, search, and workflows.
- Coordinate business owners, architects, security, infrastructure, application teams, and vendors on scope, readiness, risks, and acceptance.
- Track delivery, quality, dependencies, and issues; provide concise status reporting and corrective-action plans.
- Lead and mentor engineers, review technical deliverables, maintain project documentation, and serve as the escalation point for complex migration issues.

Key Technical Skills

- 10+ years of SharePoint or Microsoft 365 experience,



including 3+ years leading enterprise migration or modernization delivery
- SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint Server 2013/2016/2019 architecture and administration.
- Large-scale on-premises-to-cloud, tenant-to-tenant, file-share, and legacy-platform migrations.
- ShareGate, Microsoft SharePoint Migration Tool, Migration Manager, Quest, AvePoint, or comparable migration tooling.
- PowerShell and PnP PowerShell for discovery, automation, reporting, administration, and remediation.
- SharePoint Framework, CSOM, REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, JavaScript/TypeScript, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
- Sites, hubs, lists, libraries, metadata, content types, managed metadata, navigation, search, permissions, and external sharing.
- Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Purview capabilities, including retention, records management, sensitivity labels, data loss prevention, eDiscovery, and audit.
- Migration assessment, data mapping, testing, reconciliation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Azure DevOps or GitHub, CI/CD, Agile delivery, and IT service-management practices.
- Jira and confluence project management tool knowledge

Leadership and Delivery Skills

- Technical leadership, estimation, planning, team mentoring, and delivery ownership.
- Ability to translate business, security, and compliance requirements into practical migration designs.
- Clear stakeholder communication, workshop facilitation, expectation management, and executive reporting.
- Robust problem-solving, decision-making, risk management, and escalation management.
- Ability to coordinate distributed teams and parallel migration waves in a deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one full migration lifecycle from assessment through cutover and stabilization.
