Site Carpenter (Red Seal Required) – Parksville, BC The Molnar Group is a leading family-owned real estate development and construction company with more than 50 years of experience building communities across British Columbia.

We are currently constructing two buildings as part of a 142-unit apartment development in Parksville and are seeking an experienced Red Seal Carpenter to join our construction team. This position is ideal for a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.

Position Summary The successful candidate will perform a variety of carpentry duties, including concrete formwork, framing, back framing, and finishing carpentry. The ideal applicant will have a minimum of five years of carpentry experience, possess strong blueprint-reading skills, and be available to work weekends as required.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare, erect, and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams, and shafts.
- Perform framing, back framing, finishing carpentry, and general carpentry work.
- Install doors, frames, blocking, backing, and other carpentry components.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble building materials using hand and power tools.
- Verify completed work is level, square, plumb, and built according to project specifications.
- Calculate material requirements and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors, trades, and other team members.
- Comply with all company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.

Qualifications

Required

- Red Seal Carpenter Certification




- Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience
- Strong understanding of concrete formwork, framing, and finishing carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Own hand tools
- Ability to work weekends when required
- Valid authorization to work in Canada
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good English communication skills
- Solid math and measurement skills

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the day
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders, and work at heights as required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Compensation Starting at $35.00 per hour, with higher compensation available based on experience and qualifications.
