About Us The Windsor-Essex Bilingual Legal Clinic provides accessible, high-quality legal services, public legal education, and community advocacy to low-income and otherwise marginalized residents of Windsor-Essex. We provide services in English and in French.

Required Qualifications For the Staff Lawyer stream:

Member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.

Demonstrated ability to provide client-centred legal advice, representation, and advocacy.

Experience in one or more of: housing law, income security, human rights, employment law, administrative tribunal advocacy, or poverty-law practice.

Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and file-management skills.

Ability to communicate professionally in English and French, both orally and in writing.

Commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility, anti-oppression, and service to low-income communities.

For the Licensed Paralegal stream:

Licensed paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

Experience providing legal information, advice, and/or representation within the paralegal scope of practice.

Experience in one or more of: housing law, income security, human rights, employment law, administrative tribunal advocacy, or poverty-law practice.

Solid legal research, writing, advocacy, and file-management skills.





Ability to communicate professionally in English and in French, both orally and in writing.

Commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility, anti-oppression, and service to low-income communities.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct client intake, assess legal issues, and provide clear, practical legal information and advice.

Manage a caseload from intake through resolution, including preparing correspondence, pleadings, evidence, submissions, and other legal documents.

Represent eligible clients before relevant tribunals, boards, courts, and administrative decision-makers, within the successful candidate’s authorized scope of practice.

Conduct legal research and draft written advocacy materials.

Work collaboratively with clinic staff, community agencies, and partner organizations.

Participate in public legal education, outreach, law-reform, and community-development initiatives.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential electronic client files and statistical records.

Perform other duties consistent with the clinic’s mandate.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
