The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator is responsible for accurate receiving, inspection, storage, and distribution logistics of all goods and materials.
This role ensures inventory is properly logged, shipments are prepared and dispatched on time, and all warehouse safety procedures are followed. Receive all incoming deliveries. Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
Inspect incoming goods for damage, quality, and accuracy. Label, store, and organize products for secure and efficient distribution to internal departments.
Shipping
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch. Coordinate shipments seamlessly with carriers and transportation providers. Track outgoing shipments and maintain up-to-date shipping records.
Inventory Control
Maintain accurate inventory logs and records. Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures where applicable. Monitor inventory levels and flag low stock or replenishment needs. Keep storage areas clean, organized, and accessible. O. sheet and help develop streamlined tracking systems.
Warehouse Operations
Safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks (where certified). Follow company policies, safety procedures, and occupational health regulations.
Assist with warehouse organization, process improvements, and cross-departmental support as needed.
Must be at least 21 years of age upon commencement of the position to meet corporate insurance and underwriting requirements. Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (must obtain an Alberta driver’s license within 90 days if relocating). High school diploma or equivalent.
Forklift certification is considered a strong asset. Previous shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred. Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with inventory management systems (experience with SAP is considered a strong asset).
Ability to regularly lift and move heavy items, including bulk food deliveries and commercial kegs (frequently lifting up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75–100 lbs using proper team-lift techniques and material handling equipment). Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb stairs and reach for extended periods in a fast-paced warehouse and loading dock environment. Required outdoor uniform pieces (High Visibility Jacket/Pants, liner, toque) are provided.
This role has potential exposure to industrial chemicals e.g., Fuels, grease, oil, ice melt. This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook, Policy Manual, and Employment Standards Code.
