As part of our ongoing growth strategy and our commitment to maintaining our position as the largest independent manufacturer of lubricants and greases in Western Canada, we are starting up an afternoon shift and looking for energetic, self-motivated individuals to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Prepare Products
- Prepares totes, drums, kegs, and pails for deliveries.
- Unloads rail tankers.
- Picks orders for Branches and Calgary Deliveries.
- Helps customer service.
- Assists with inventory levels.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance
- Helps maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse area, including sweeping and cleaning up any spills, removing pallets and empty drums and keeping the aisles clean and clear of any debris.
- Follows scheduled equipment inspections and maintenance, including daily safety checks.
- Reviews equipment performance and recommends repairs or replacement to Supervisor.
- Makes recommendations on the effective use of space within the warehouse to ensure efficient retrieval of high-demand or high-volume products.
- Safety
- Ensures that co-workers operate safely.
- Identifies work-place safety hazards and informs the supervisor.
- Performs regular safety checks.
- Adheres to all company policies, safety practices and initiatives.
- Leadership and Teamwork
- Works closely with employees in other departments as well as with the internal office and management teams.
- Assists with promoting Boss’ key service deliverables.
- Promotes, demonstrates and reinforces Boss’ 4 core values in all day-to-day actions.
- Assists with promoting a positive team atmosphere.
- Assists with training staff to ensure they have the “tools” necessary to perform their job to the best of their ability.
- Assists with ensuring effective collaboration of all staff in the warehouse to achieve our desired goals and results.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Education:
- Completion of High School preferred.
- Knowledge:
- Basic knowledge of oil and other products at Boss is an asset.
- Skills/Certification:
- Forklift Operator Certification is an asset.
- WHMIS, if necessary, but training available.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years work experience in a physically demanding job, preferably in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with lubricants is an asset.
- Abilities:
- Ability to work in a moderate-paced warehouse environment and perform routine and often repetitive tasks.
- Ability to plan job tasks, solve common problems and make decisions as necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written, and must be able read instructions and understand numbers and figures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg’s).
- Ability to take direction.
- Ability to work well with others and with minimal supervision.
- Personal Suitability:
- Must have a positive approach to work.
- Good physical condition.
- Positive common sense.
- Great manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination.
- Take pride in your work.
- Attentive to detail.
- Continuous desire to learn new Boss products.
