Reporting to the Manager of the Communicable Disease Control Unit, the Specialist is a crucial Public Health Officer whose work impacts health outcomes across the NWT. Collaboration with a solid team in this area is vital for effective public health delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on communicable disease case and contact management • Establish comprehensive guidelines for disease prevention • Conduct training sessions for healthcare providers on best practices • Participate in national committees for public health topics • Manage the after-hours CPHO Reporting Line
Requirements: • Nursing undergraduate degree • Minimum 3 years nursing experience including 1 year in relevant public health • Current registration with the College of Nurses in NWT • Knowledge in communicable disease prevention • Competent in conducting public health education
