Extendicare seeks a dedicated Recreation Activity Aide to enrich the lives of residents through engaging activities. This part time role focuses on both individual and group programming.
Contribute to our mission by planning, implementing, and assessing various activities aimed at our residents' well-being. You will manage activity spaces, monitor residents during programs, and ensure proper documentation. Effective communication with registered staff and collaboration with departments is essential to success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize and evaluate individual and group activation programs
• Clean and prepare activity spaces for use
• Observe and report resident behavior to nursing staff
• Maintain detailed program records according to policy
• Collaborate with coworkers to enhance resident experiences
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education in recreation or similar
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities
• Knowledge of programming for those with cognitive impairments
• Strong organizational skills and independence
• Interest in geriatric care
