As a Sheriff's Officer under the Department of Justice, you will be responsible for the safety of judges and officials during court proceedings. With authority as a Deputy Sheriff and Peace Officer, your skills in handling legal documents and the appropriate application of force will be key to this role. You will also need the ability to maintain calm during stressful situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safeguard court officials during all proceedings • Interpret legal documents related to Sheriff duties • Implement the Use of Force Model in confrontations • Respond promptly to courtroom disturbances • Maintain the independence of the judiciary at all times
Requirements: • Two years' experience in a court security workplace • Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution • Must hold a valid Class 4 Driver's License • Satisfactory criminal records check required • Eligibility under Affirmative Action must be indicated
