Job Summary The

Licensed Practical/Registered Practical Nurse

is responsible for providing direct skilled client care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive client care outcomes.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care

Provides accurate, detailed, and timely documentation

Conducts ongoing assessments

Prepares, administers and appropriately documents actions taken specific to medications

Performs all skills, treatments, and procedures competently in accordance with the provincial scope of practice

Follows principles of infection control and Universal Precautions

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

Recent clinical nursing experience in long-term care, acute care, home care, or community settings is an asset

Strong clinical skills

Negative TB test or chest x-ray

Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision

Excellent customer service skills
