Role Description $100,000 – $150,000

This posting is for an existing vacancy. We do not use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants.

The short version You'd be our marketing function. Not a marketing team member — the function. One person, senior, with the mandate and the budget to decide what we say, how it looks, and where it runs.

That's either the most appealing thing you've read this month or a red flag. We'd rather you know now.

Why this isn't an agency job At an agency you'd touch twelve brands and own none of them. Here you own one, end to end: the strategy, the words, the visuals, the campaign, and the number it moved. You'll see a piece of work from a half-idea in a Tuesday meeting through to the metric it changed a quarter later. Very few marketers get that loop,

and it's the fastest way we know to get positive.

You'll report to [title], sit close to [product/sales/founders], and have real authority over the brand. When you say we're not doing something, we're not doing it.

What you'd actually do

Own the marketing strategy and the budget behind it

Write — properly. Editorial, campaign, product, the occasional thing under someone else's name

Design and ship the assets. You'll art-direct yourself most of the time

Run our content engine end to end: what we publish, why, and whether it works

Use AI tooling the way a craftsperson uses a jig — to move faster on the parts that don't need you, so you can spend your judgment where it counts

Bring in freelancers and contractors when the work outgrows one pair of hands, and manage them well

Tell us honestly what's working and what isn't

Who we think this is

Journalism or editorial.

You can find the story, ask the uncomfortable question, and structure an argument. You've worked to a deadline that didn't move.

Design and graphics.

You can build the asset, not just brief it. Figma or Adobe, and taste that shows in the work.

AI fluency.

You've integrated generative tools into a real workflow and formed opinions about where they help and where they quietly make things worse.

Marketing outcomes.

You've owned a number, not just a deliverable.

Senior-level judgment matters more to us than years. If you've spent three years running a small brand well, that may beat eight years in a large one.
