Job Title:

Trainer (Instructional Designer)

Location:

Edmonton, AB - 5 Days/Week Onsite

Employment Type:

Contract – 12+ Months, with possible 6-month extension

About the Role We are seeking an experienced

Intermediate Trainer

to support a large-scale

procurement system modernization

initiative. The successful candidate will lead training and outreach activities, develop role-based learning solutions, facilitate training for diverse audiences, and use digital adoption and AI-enabled tools to improve learning outcomes and system adoption.

Key Responsibilities

Lead training initiatives by conducting learning needs and audience assessments and developing role-based training strategies.

Design, develop, implement, and maintain instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, multimedia, and performance-support solutions.

Facilitate training for both technical and non-technical audiences using demonstrations, activities, and learner engagement techniques.

Develop job aids, quick reference guides, videos, digital adoption resources, and other learning materials.

Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, accessibility standards, and user-centered design.

Partner with business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, vendors, and project teams to gather requirements and validate learning solutions.

Manage multiple training deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, reviews, and approvals.

Establish quality assurance, version control, accessibility, and content maintenance practices.

Evaluate training effectiveness through learner feedback, assessments, performance measures, and adoption indicators.

Use approved digital, multimedia, collaboration, and AI-enabled tools to support instructional design and content development while validating accuracy, accessibility,



privacy, and compliance.

Provide coaching and guidance to junior trainers and contributors.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

University degree in a related field such as

Adult Education, Instructional Design, or Business Administration plus 2+ years of related experience , or a related diploma plus

4+ years of progressively responsible experience , or equivalent education/experience.

2+ years

conducting learning needs analysis, audience/role assessment, work-context analysis, and requirements gathering.

2+ years

designing and maintaining end-to-end learning solutions across instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, multimedia, job aids, and performance support.

2+ years

facilitating instructor-led and virtual training for technical and non-technical audiences.

2+ years

designing or configuring digital adoption solutions using

WalkMe or a comparable platform .

2+ years

developing accessible e-learning, instructional videos, audio, or multimedia using tools such as

Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, Canva, Vyond, or Adobe .

2+ years

gathering requirements, facilitating reviews, reconciling stakeholder feedback, and delivering learning solutions within timelines.

2+ years

using

AI-enabled tools

for instructional design, analysis, content development, or communications, with appropriate validation and governance.

2+ years





evaluating training effectiveness through learner feedback, assessments, performance measures, or adoption indicators.

2+ years

of experience delivering training for

ERP or comparable enterprise systems , such as Finance, HCM, Payroll, Supply Chain, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar platforms.

Preferred Skills

Experience with enterprise

ERP/procurement systems

and system modernization initiatives.

Experience with digital adoption and in-application guidance platforms.

Experience applying accessibility and user-centered design principles.

Experience using AI tools responsibly within learning and content-development workflows.

Coaching or mentoring experience with junior trainers.
