Reporting to the Director, Global Theatre Design, this role plays an integral part in creating and maintaining technical documentation, supporting custom theatre solutions,
and contributing to the evolution of the IMAX theatre experience.This position works cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to support theatre development initiatives, special projects, and technical presentations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about design, technology, and immersive entertainment environments.ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of technical documentation for IMAX theatre systems and equipment for internal and external useAssist in configuring IMAX theatres and equipment to maintain and enhance the IMAX experienceContribute to the development of current entertainment concepts using current, modified, or emerging technologiesAssist in creating performance specifications and manufacturing details for specialized equipment and custom client solutionsSupport the preparation of technical system data and documentation used by the Theatre Development groupCollaborate with team members on technical details required for RFP submissionsAssist in preparing costing details, estimates, and budgets for special projects and non-standard equipmentRemain current on theatre design standards, technologies,
and performance criteria impacting the IMAX experiencePrepare project-specific technical documentation packages tailored to client and project requirementsCoordinate with sub-system suppliers to ensure technical requirements are accurately reflected in documentation packagesDevelop presentation drawings, visual materials, and models for technical and sales presentationsSupport additional projects and assignments as directed by leadershipQualificationsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesFamiliarity with building construction and design principlesProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling toolsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and Adobe Creative SuiteNice to HavesFamiliarity with theatre design and immersive entertainment environmentsExperience with Power BIExperience with D5 RenderFamiliarity with Lumion and/or V-RayInterest in entertainment technology, experiential design, and premium cinema experiencesPosition StatusExisting VacancyHiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche$31.81 / 31,81$ - $39.76 / 39,76$ (per hour / par heure) Placement within this range depends on a candidate’s experience, skills, internal equity, and regional market factors.
