Shermco Canada seeks a Protection and Control Technician III to operate in British Columbia. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability of protection systems across various sectors in this field-based position.
In this full time role, you will be responsible for independently testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting protection and control systems for utilities and renewable energy providers. Your expertise in AC/DC schematics and protective relays will be crucial as you lead field activities and support junior technicians. Effective communication with customers and team members will enhance project success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Commission and troubleshoot protection systems • Conduct relay testing and logic verification • Interpret wiring diagrams and protection philosophies • Lead field activities for outages and maintenance • Document technical findings and corrective actions
Requirements: • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field • 3-5 years of field-related experience • Strong knowledge of protective relays and substation circuits • Experience with SEL relays and control systems • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
