About the Firm

We are a small, client-focused accounting firm in Nanaimo, BC. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team and provide bookkeeping and accounting support for a variety of clients.

Position Summary The Accounting Technician will be responsible for completing bookkeeping assignments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of accounting and tax files. The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple client deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete bookkeeping for small business and personal clients
- Record and reconcile banking, credit card, and other financial transactions
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records
- Complete accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as required
- Prepare GST/PST filings and other related reports
- Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping procedures
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation
- Assist with accounting and tax file preparation
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information
- Meet established deadlines and maintain organized client files





Required Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum two years of accounting experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently complete bookkeeping
- Experience with:
- Caseware
- Taxprep and/or Cantax
- Sage
- QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines
- Professional communication and client-service skills
