Position Overview
Bayswater Vancouver is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and people-focused Activity Leader to plan and deliver a variety of social, cultural, recreational, and educational activities for our international students.
The Activity Leader plays an important role in helping students connect with one another, explore Vancouver, experience Canadian culture, and feel part of the Bayswater community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver a weekly schedule of student activities and events.
- Organize social, cultural, recreational, and educational experiences for students.
- Coordinate local excursions, tours, sports, cultural activities, and special events.
- Promote activities to students and encourage participation.
- Provide students with information about activity schedules, meeting locations, costs, and transportation.
- Coordinate bookings, transportation, venues, tickets, and other activity logistics.
- Work with external vendors and activity providers when required.
- Ensure activities are delivered in a safe, professional, and organized manner.
- Maintain attendance records and provide feedback on activities.
- Monitor student engagement and make recommendations for new or improved activities.
- Support student orientation and school events when required.
- Build a welcoming and inclusive setting for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Respond appropriately to student questions, concerns, and unexpected situations.
- Follow Bayswater policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements.
Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be:
- Energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic about working with international students.
- Highly organized with strong planning and time-management skills.
- Comfortable speaking with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Confident leading groups and activities.
- Creative and able to develop new and engaging activity ideas.
- Reliable, responsible, and professional.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with Vancouver and its attractions, activities, and transportation system.
- Able to manage multiple activities and logistics at the same time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in student services, hospitality, tourism, events, recreation, education, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience working with international students or multicultural groups is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- First Aid certification is an asset.
- Availability to work some evenings and weekends as required.
- Knowledge of Vancouver and surrounding areas is an asset.

Position Funding & Eligibility Requirements: This position is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet all of the following criteria at the start of the placement:
Student Status: Must be currently registered as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited Canadian post-secondary college or university.
Program Alignment: The position must be recognized as a formal work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunity (e.g., Co-op, mandatory internship, or practicum) aligned with your academic program.
Legal Status: Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Exclusion: Per federal funding guidelines, international students with a student work permit are unfortunately not eligible for this specific funded position.
