Shermco Canada seeks a Protection and Control Technician III to operate in British Columbia. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability of protection systems across various sectors in this field-based position.
In this full-time role, you will be responsible for independently testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting protection and control systems for utilities and renewable energy providers. Your expertise in AC/DC schematics and protective relays will be crucial as you lead field activities and support junior technicians. Effective communication with customers and team members will enhance project success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Commission and troubleshoot protection systems
• Conduct relay testing and logic verification
• Interpret wiring diagrams and protection philosophies
• Lead field activities for outages and maintenance
• Document technical findings and corrective actions
Requirements:
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
• 3-5 years of field-related experience
• Robust knowledge of protective relays and substation circuits
• Experience with SEL relays and control systems
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
