Position Summary The Environmental Class 3 Driver will be relied upon to visit various client sites to collect and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. As a professional driver with a safe driving record, you will utilize TDG knowledge and experience to label containers and prepare transport documentation.
The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate all required transport equipment.
Professionally represent GFL on all client sites and look for ways to expand services.
Ensure all assigned equipment is properly loaded and maintained.
Keep accurate drivers’ logs as required to document mileage, hours and material hauled.
Communicate effectively with a team of qualified professionals.
Participate in safety meetings, last minute risk assessments and job hazard assessments.
Identify and classify all types of hazardous waste.
Handle drum dollies and pallet jacks for the transportation and loading of materials.
Other duties as required.
Requirements
Valid Class 3Q Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a fairly clean Commercial Driving Abstract; Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brakes is an asset.
Ability to perform consistent manual labor, including the repetitive lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy drums, pallets, and containers weighing up to 75+ lbs.
Manual driving experience is an asset.
TDG knowledge and experience is an asset.

Robust mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities.
Excellent customer service skills
Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
Ability to work safely and independently.
High level of personal integrity.
Strong work ethic.
Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
Manual dexterity, ability to lift, push and pull up to 75+ lbs. is required.
