It is known, among other things, for its impeccable 18-hole championship golf course, excellent service, creative dining and friendly people.

Vancouver Golf Club is seeking an energetic, service-focused, and highly organized Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our Hospitality team.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day operation of the Club's dining outlets, lounges, banquets, tournaments, and special events. This hands-on leadership position is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys developing people, building relationships, and creating exceptional experiences for Members and guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service & Operations

● Provide visible leadership across dining, lounge, patio, banquet, and event operations.

● Deliver exceptional member and guest experiences while maintaining Club service standards.

● Oversee daily Food & Beverage operations, including service execution, staffing, reservations, and event support.

● Ensure compliance with health, safety, liquor, and Club policies.

Leadership & Team Development

● Recruit, train, coach, and motivate team members.

● Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities.

● Foster a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture.

● Support employee development and performance management initiatives.

Financial & Administrative Management

● Assist in achieving revenue, labour, and expense targets.

● Monitor scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and cost controls.

● Support cash handling procedures and operational reporting.





● Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.

Events & Member Programming

● Assist in the planning and execution of tournaments, member events, weddings, banquets, and private functions.

● Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless event delivery.

● Provide leadership during major Club events and peak operating periods.

QUALIFICATIONS

● 3+ years of progressive Food & Beverage or hospitality experience.

● Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, hotel, private club, golf club, or similar environment.

● Strong knowledge of service standards, event execution, scheduling, and labour management.

● Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.

● Serving It Right certification required.

● FoodSafe certification and private club experience are considered assets.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
