Role Details
Help bring the Next Gen x RIOT activation to life at the CIBC Run for the Cure by welcoming visitors, facilitating activities, and creating an engaging and inclusive experience at our booth.
Description
We’re excited to launch Next Gen, a current Canadian Cancer Society community that connects young adults (ages 19-35) with opportunities to volunteer, advocate, learn, lead, and make an impact.
To celebrate the launch, Next Gen will be activating at the CIBC Run for the Cure in Toronto alongside RIOT (Research Information Outreach Team) — a volunteer group of cancer research trainees who help make research more accessible and understandable for the public.
We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging experience for booth visitors. You'll connect with participants, support interactive activities, share information about Next Gen and RIOT, and help spark conversations about how young adults can get involved with the Canadian Cancer Society.
The CIBC Run for the Cure in Toronto will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, at the University of Toronto.
Why we need you
Be one of the first ambassadors for Next Gen and help introduce a new CCS community to young adults
Build excitement, curiosity, and buzz around what's coming next

Encourage visitors to join the community and be among the first to hear about future Next Gen opportunities
What we're looking for
️ Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable starting conversations with new people
- ️ Enthusiastic about community engagement and volunteerism
- ️ Reliable, positive, and comfortable in a busy event environment
- ️ Young adults between the ages of 19-35

Your commitment
Attend the CIBC Run for the Cure event in Toronto on Sunday, October 4 (volunteer shift starts at 7:45 am ET)
- Approx. 2-4 hours onsite
Engage with participants and help facilitate booth activities Apply waterless temporary tattoos and distribute swag
Encourage participants to take photos with our props
Invite visitors to join the Next Gen email community through our website
Help grow our Instagram community by encouraging follows and engagement
