Employer: Shared Health Site: Health Sciences Centre - HSC PsycHealth Centre Department / Unit: MH Psych Clin Admin Child & Adolescent Anticipated Shift: Days Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Under the general direction of the Administrative Services Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the effective, effective provision of clerical support for the department.
Acting as a receptionist for the area, receiving incoming telephone calls, taking and relaying messages, greeting and directing patients, visitors and staff. Typing a variety of correspondence and other material. Miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program preferred. Typing 40 wpm required. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word required. Medical terminology preferred.
Excellent
English communication skills both oral and written required.
Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values. Due to the nature of the work in the department, the incumbent must be able to exercise tact and patience with difficult situations that may arise when dealing with patients and or the public.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions in Shared Health that combine to equal more than 1.0 FTE.
