Responsibilities
Assist with Monthly and Annual inspections of fire alarm systems, smoke alarms, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.
Assist with system testing and troubleshooting to ensure proper operation of fire alarm devices and sensors
Assist with troubleshooting of fire alarm circuits and other low voltage wiring and circuits
Learn to wire low voltage systems, sensors, and control panels following safety standards and technical specifications
Learn industry codes and fire alarm report writing
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including installation steps, test results, and system configurations
Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of testing and troubleshooting activities
Qualifications
Enrolment in the CFAA Educational program (mandatory)
Graduate of a college fire technology program highly desirable
Interest or background in electrical work, mechanical systems, or related fields advantageous
Knowledge of low voltage wiring, sensors, and control systems is a plus but training will be provided
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety procedures
Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning new skills
