We are recruiting for a CNC Lathe Setter/Machinist.

Our Mississauga area client specializes in contract prototyping, production and assembly of precision components and sub-assemblies for science, technology and engineering instrumentation manufacturers. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor the Lathe Setter/Machinist would set up adjust and operate computer-controlled lath machines. Interpret blueprints and measure parts, install chucks, fixtures, and cutting tools, load programs, set work and tool offsets and adjust feed and speed rates, measure finished metal or plastic parts using micrometers and calipers to verify blueprint accuracy, fix cutting issues, correct tool wear offsets and resolve basic programming or mechanical errors. Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have a great attention to detail and will maintain company standards in the areas of housekeeping, attendance and teamwork.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and experience
3+ years of experience
Technical training or a machining apprenticeship
Able to read technical drawings, understand G-code and apply basic math
Able to stand for long hours and lift heavy raw material
Positive attitude and willingness to work!
Security clearance required. Only available to Canadian Permanent Resident Status or Canadian Citizens’.
