The Briars Resort & Spa is looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Worker to support the daily maintenance and operation of our resort.

This is a practical, active role that requires valuable troubleshooting skills, flexibility, and the ability to respond to urgent maintenance issues when needed.

Responsibilities
Perform general repairs and routine maintenance throughout the resort
Troubleshoot guest room and facility maintenance issues
Handle basic repairs involving toilets, faucets, drains, doors, locks, lighting, furniture, drywall, painting, and fixtures
Respond promptly to urgent or guest-impacting maintenance issues
Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment checks
Support outdoor and seasonal maintenance as required
Move furniture, equipment, tables, chairs, supplies, and other materials when needed
Assist with event setup and teardown
Support other departments when operational needs require
Keep work areas, tools, and equipment safe and organized

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. The successful candidate must be comfortable with physical work, including:
Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Moving furniture and equipment
Bending, kneeling, climbing stairs,



and working on ladders
Working both indoors and outdoors
Responding quickly to maintenance emergencies when required

Qualifications
Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, hotel, resort, or property maintenance experience preferred
Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, or mechanical skills are an asset
Comfortable using common hand and power tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Able to prioritize urgent issues and complete tasks efficiently
Versatile to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays as required

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, practical, physically capable, and willing to get the job done. You should be comfortable handling both routine maintenance and unexpected situations in a busy resort workplace.
