Efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
Providing information professionally and with integrity
Confirming valid boarding passes
Scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors and other technology, along with physical search techniques
Protecting restricted areas
Managing conflict
Communicating clearly and effectively
Upholding all regulations with vigilance

What You Bring:
Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume workplace for a minimum of one (1) year
Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
Solid English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Current resident of Penticton, or the surrounding area
Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
This position will be based at Penticton Regional Airport (YYF). Work hours will reflect opening hours of the airport, from early morning to evening, and including weekend and holidays.
If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer.
