Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Recreation Aide and play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for 6 residents in a home-like setting. In this lively and rewarding position, you will facilitate engaging activities, promote social interaction, and support residents' physical and emotional well-being. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, music, and outings
Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere that encourages socialization and participation among residents
Assist residents with mobility or special needs during activities to ensure safety and comfort
Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to coordinate activity schedules that complement residents’ care plans
Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation, and any observations related to residents’ well-being
Communicate effectively with residents, family members,



and staff to understand individual preferences and needs
Support residents with special needs by adapting activities to ensure engagement and safety

Experience
Prior recreation experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred
Experience caring for seniors or individuals with special needs enhances your ability to connect meaningfully with residents
Knowledge of brain injury care is advantageous for supporting residents with cognitive challenges
Background in caregiving roles demonstrates your compassion, patience, and dedication to helping those in need
Valid RCA certificate and registration with BC Care Aid Registry is a necessity.
Solid communication skills are essential for building trust and fostering positive interactions with residents and team members

Pay: From $27.92 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
