Bursey Excavation and Development Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy and industrial equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in heavy and industrial equipment
Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
Assemble and disassemble components for repair, maintenance, or upgrades
Safely operate power tools and shop equipment
Perform heavy lifting and handling of equipment components as required
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work
Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures,
and regulatory requirements
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding equipment condition and repair needs
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 4 years of mechanical experience (required)
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar role
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on industrial and heavy equipment
Knowledge of electrical systems related to heavy machinery is considered an asset
Welding experience is considered an asset but not required
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
