Become an Online Learning Counsellor with School District 71, focusing on mental health support, behavior management, and community transitions. This temporary position offers a 0.50 FTE commitment to Grades 10-12.
In this role, you will provide essential mental health support, lead classes on mindfulness and anxiety strategies, and manage individualized education plans. You'll assist students in their transition from school to community careers while liaising with educational institutions for guidance on post-secondary opportunities. Your focus will be on implementing proactive behavior plans and crisis support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide online and in-person mental health support to students • Develop and manage behavior and mental health IEPs • Guide students in post-secondary graduation planning • Maintain accurate student transcripts and records • Coordinate provincial exam writing sessions for students
Requirements: • Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, or related field • Secondary level counseling experience (Grades 10-12) • Proficiency with online tools like Brightspace and Zoom • Experience in adult education practices • Commitment to supporting adults on graduation pathways
