Eighth Avenue Animal Hospital is a newly opening small animal veterinary clinic in New Westminster, BC, seeking a versatile and compassionate Veterinary Assistant / Client Care Representative (Receptionist) to join our team.

We are a contemporary, fast-paced clinic focused on high-quality veterinary care, excellent client communication, and strong teamwork. We are open 7 days a week with rotating shifts.

This is a great prospect for someone who enjoys both hands-on animal care and client-facing front desk work.

ResponsibilitiesClient Care / Reception Duties
Greet clients and provide friendly, professional front-desk service
Answer phone calls, emails, and schedule veterinary appointments
Process payments, invoices, and estimates
Manage patient records and support clinic workflow
Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area

Veterinary Assistant Duties
Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures
Safely handle and restrain animals
Prepare exam rooms, surgical packs,



and equipment
Assist with patient monitoring and basic nursing care
Clean and maintain treatment, kennel, and surgical areas

Requirements
Passion for animal care and veterinary medicine
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Comfortable handling dogs and cats
Basic computer skills
Team-oriented, reliable, and professional attitude
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, shelter, or medical office is an asset (not required)

Compensation

$19–$22/hour depending on experience
Full-time and part-time positions available

Location

Recent Westminster, BC
Open 7 days a week (rotating shifts)
