What you will be doing:
- Develop and implement a social media strategy for Indwell, Flourish and Gather being mindful of the unique audiences of each and ensuring that content is reflective of multiple regions and the breath of services that the Indwell family of companies provides
- Monitor social media metrics, propose and implement changes in order to foster increased numbers of followers and deepen engagement across audiences and channels
- Coordinate with Indwell, Flourish and Gather staff to gather stories, photos and videos to be used for social media posts as well as other communications efforts
- Coordinate with relevant staffto provide presentations, tours, and information to individuals, donors, schools, students, and community groups about Indwell and supportive housingin Woodstock, Norfolk County, Hamilton, Burlington, Sarnia, as well as current and emerging regions. This includes regular regional eblasts to supporters
- Supportthedevelopmentofpositiverelationshipswithindividuals,faithgroups, community and service groups, foundations, political leaders, business and corporate leaders, and other service providersin these regions byadvisingIndwell, Flourish, and Gather teams on community perceptions, concerns, and opportunities, and by coordinating engagement
- Work with the Events Coordinator and regional staff to develop and manage planning and communications for events in Woodstock, Norfolk County, Hamilton, Burlington, Sarnia and emerging regions, including the annual signature events, ground breakings, grand openings, and funding announcements
- Assist Flourish,
Indwell and Gather in scouting new potential sites, participate in early community meetings as requested by regional staff, and help organize neighbourhood/community information meetings. Assist, as needed, in building launch activities
- WorkwithIndwell,FlourishandGatherteamstodevelopandimplement community engagement strategies forexpansioninnew regions and projects, and expansion within current regions
What you will bring:
- Demonstrated commitment to Indwell’s faith statement, mission, values, and vision
- Proven success on social media platforms, with the ability to demonstrate increased and deeper engagement over time
- Valuable photography, videography, video editing, and story writing abilities
- Understanding of the needs and issues of communities such as Norfolk, Woodstock, Sarnia, Burlington, and Hamilton
- Knowledge of community engagement concepts, methodologies and tools
- Strong interpersonal, motivational, presentation, networking and communication skills
- Ability to engage community members, including leading information sessions, answering questions, and garnering support around an issue or topic
- Ability to effectively promote opportunities and partnerships, including being able to coach program staff in their public speaking/ presentation skills
- Proven ability to relate to and engage diverse groups of people
- Ability to work independently and with committees or groups
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity with on-line collaborative tools
- Must be able to maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and use of vehicle is required
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Five+ years of relevant experience in a charity setting
- Vacation: 3 weeks 15 days paid with 8 HEAL days (sick and personal appointments) per year
