Duties
Safely operate long-haul trucks across regional or national routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Transport freight efficiently while maintaining accurate delivery schedules and documentation
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels
Utilize forklift and heavy equipment operation skills for loading and unloading freight at warehouses or distribution centers
Secure cargo properly using straps, tarps, or other equipment to prevent shifting or damage during transit
Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle reliability on long trips




Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments

Experience
Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record and valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
Familiarity with freight handling procedures and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts
Knowledge of safety protocols related to long-distance trucking and cargo securement
Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently
Strong navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems for efficient route planning
Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and coordination during trips
