YWCA Davenport is seeking a Shelter Support Worker for its full-time contract. This position operates from 4:00 pm to midnight, Wednesday to Sunday, providing crucial assistance to residents facing homelessness and trauma. With a strong commitment to anti-oppressive practices, you will work collaboratively to offer crisis support, develop workshops, and conduct daily safety assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily support including tokens and personal care items • Conduct safety plans and risk assessments for all residents • Facilitate a supportive environment through mediation skills • Offer information and referrals for mental health and housing • Develop and evaluate interactive workshops for residents
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent • 3-5 years in counseling focused on at-risk populations • Proficiency in harm reduction principles • Experience in multicultural and inclusive service delivery • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
