Join ONWA as a Counsellor focused on Indigenous mental wellness. Utilize cultural practices and evidence-based approaches to provide comprehensive mental health support. In this role with the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA), you will serve Indigenous women and families by offering therapeutic and supportive services.
You will execute clinical assessments, advocacy, and crisis intervention while honoring cultural traditions that foster healing. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in addressing trauma and mental health within the community. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based counselling services to clients
- Assess mental health needs and develop personalized plans
- Facilitate crisis management and act as a resource
- Connect clients to traditional and cultural supports
- Participate in mental health program development initiatives Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field
- 3-5 years’ experience in Indigenous mental health counselling
- Proficient in trauma-informed care methods
- Robust organizational skills for managing case loads
- Understanding of Indigenous traditions and community needs Enhance the well-being of Indigenous families through effective counselling at ONWA.
