This early-career role emphasizes photonic integrated circuit design and simulation, targeting space-based biosignature detection. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field obtained in the last five years and have substantial experience in photonics and device characterization. Key Responsibilities:
Design and simulate PICs using tools like Lumerical
Develop silicon nitride device architectures for spectroscopy
Conduct optical characterization and support fiber-optic coupling
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and publish findings
Ensure packaging standards for waveguide devices Requirements:
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or closely related field
Significant experience with electromagnetic simulation tools
Knowledge of photonic device layout and fabrication
Capacity for independent research and innovation
