Transform lives as the Mental Health Land Based Coordinator at the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA). This role emphasizes cultural healing and wellness through land-based activities and traditional practices.
The Land Based Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering ONWA's Mental Health Program by coordinating activities that support Indigenous women and families. You will leverage your expertise in cultural protocols and foster holistic healing through teachings and guidance. Your work will greatly contribute to promoting wellness and connection within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead culturally grounded wellness programming and activities
• Provide traditional counselling and support services
• Facilitate ceremonies and community workshops
• Utilize a Two-Eyed Seeing approach in practices
• Promote language restoration and cultural connection
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in relevant social sciences
• Minimum three years of experience in traditional practices
• In-depth knowledge of Indigenous cultural ceremonies
• Solid facilitator and communicator
• Capacity for travel when needed
