We currently have an exciting chance for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Public Health department.

Reporting to the Program Lead, and in alignment with the vision and values of the organization, this position practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia and provides dental health prevention and promotion services for communities and populations in Northern Health. Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene from the British Columbia College of Oral Health . Current registration and licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the Province of British Columbia.

Minimum one (1) year recent, related dental hygiene experience including experience in a community health organization or the equivalent working with children, youth, and their families. Current valid BC driver’s license and use of personal vehicle for business use. Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, computer communication means. Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.





Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, client advocacy and social justice concerns. Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovation, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others. Demonstrated computer skills including the use of electronic documentation systems and Windows based programs.

Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
