The Opportunity
iN4Structure is seeking an experienced Controller to join our team. Reporting directly to the
President, the Controller will lead the company’s financial operations and oversee the full
accounting cycle across all divisions.
This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial
reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, managing cash flow, and providing senior
management with the financial insight needed to support strategic planning and decision‑
making.
The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the
ability to balance day‑to‑day financial operations with higher‑level planning and analysis.
Experience in construction or project‑based accounting is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, job costing, equipment tracking, and general ledger functions
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Maintain monthly accounting schedules and ensure the accuracy and completeness of balance sheet accounts
Oversee job costing, progress billings, holdbacks, and work‑in‑progress (WIP) reporting
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning
Monitor financial performance and provide management with meaningful financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions
Coordinate year‑end processes, including external audits, working papers, and tax filings
Ensure timely and accurate compliance with CRA, WSIB, EHT, HST, T4, T5, and T5018 requirements
Liaise with banks, insurance providers, group benefits and RRSP/DPSP administrators, external accountants, and legal counsel
Assist with SR&ED; claim documentation and other financial reporting requirements
Supervise and support accounting staff, providing leadership, training, and development
Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting or Controller‑level role
Experience in construction or project‑based accounting, including job costing, progress billing, holdbacks, WIP, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting, is considered a strong asset
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and cash flow management
Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior management and other departments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
