We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, working with autistic individuals, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives.

Duties
- This position requires someone who likes to have fun, enjoys video games, movies and going on outings within the city. THIS IS A MUST
- Assist client with fun daily living activities such as outings to community places, video gaming locations, hikes, biking, window shopping and other fun activities
- Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment [when needed]
- Offer companionship and emotional support tailored to individual needs
- Assist with activities that promote independence, including exercises and community outings
- Monitor health status and report any concerns or changes to healthcare providers or supervisors
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, and working with people with autism.
- Knowledge of patient care, caregiving techniques, and medication administration
- Long walks and enjoys biking
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Playing video games with knowledge of gaming topics and movies [ especially Star Wars and transformers]
- Familiarity with autism and related care, or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks efficiently [only when needed]
- Flexibility to adapt to various client needs and work environments
- Valid experience in working with vulnerable populations is highly valued
This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring support due to intellectual disabilities.
