Position: Early Childhood Educator – School-Age Program

Schedule: Split Shift | 7:00–9:00 AM and 1:00–6:00 PM

Location: Lakeland Ridge School, Sherwood Park, AB

Hourly Wage: $17.50–$20.00/hour, plus applicable wage top-up depending on qualifications

Nature Wanderers Childcare is looking for a passionate, caring, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our Out-of-School Care (OSC) team at Lakeland Ridge School.

We are a nature-oriented childcare program that believes children learn through play, exploration, meaningful relationships, and connection with the world around them. We are looking for an educator who enjoys working with school-age children and is excited to create a welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued, confident, and supported.

What You Will Do

- Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, exploration, and learning.
- Support children's social and emotional development by building positive relationships, encouraging cooperation,



and helping children develop healthy conflict-resolution skills.
- Provide attentive care and active supervision while ensuring children's safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Encourage children's independence, confidence, leadership, and ability to make meaningful choices.
- Provide opportunities for children to participate in outdoor play, nature exploration, active games, creative projects, and relaxing activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace where every child feels welcomed, respected, and valued.
- Build nurturing relationships with children and support their sense of belonging within the program.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and provide meaningful experiences for school-age children.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and team members.
- Follow Nature Wanderers Childcare policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety practices.

Pay: $17.50-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
