Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Economic Development Officer to drive growth and foster economic vitality within our community. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing strategic initiatives, building strong relationships with local businesses, and promoting regional opportunities. Your energetic approach will help unlock new avenues for business expansion, attract investment, and enhance the overall economic landscape.

Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive economic development strategies aligned with community goals
- Engage with local businesses, industry leaders, and potential investors to identify opportunities for growth and partnership
- Lead marketing efforts to promote regional advantages through digital campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives
- Manage project pipelines from conception through execution, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction
- Utilize Salesforce or similar customer relationship management tools to track interactions, follow-ups, and project progress
- Negotiate agreements, incentives, or partnerships that support business retention and attraction efforts
- Coordinate with government agencies, chambers of commerce, and community organizations to facilitate business development initiatives
Qualifications
- Proven experience in negotiation, project management, or business development roles within an economic or community development setting
- Robust understanding of marketing principles and experience in promoting regional assets effectively
- Familiarity with Salesforce or comparable CRM platforms for managing stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse groups
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from planning through execution while managing multiple priorities
- Knowledge of customer relationship management strategies to foster long-term partnerships
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public policy or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
