One thing is certain: you will love the experience and our participants will too.Salary:$18.49 - $19.62 per hourResponsibilitiesSupervise and facilitate drop‑in programs to ensure they run safely, inclusively, and engagingly.Monitor the behaviour of patrons, advising them of rule infractions and, if required, disciplining them using strong interpersonal skills.Set up and take down equipment required for each program, ensuring safe and appropriate use of all Town of Newmarket property.Respond to emergency situations, performing minor first aid and/or arranging medical assistance, and document all accidents accordingly.Respond to enquiries and concerns from the public and program participants, using excellent customer‑service skills to resolve issues or refer to appropriate staff.Ensure all patrons follow departmental Health & Safety procedures, including but not limited to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and communicate any health and safety concerns, attendance issues, equipment, inventory,



or facility space problems.Perform minor cleaning of the facility, which may include sweeping and mopping, to ensure participant safety.Job RequirementsAbility to deal courteously and effectively with the general public, participants, parents/guardians, and staff.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.Proficiency and passion for sport programs, including but not limited to ice‑skating, badminton, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball.Availability to work evenings, weekends, and special events.Due to the nature of the contacts of this position, a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.Current Standard First Aid & CPR‑C certification required.Current High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development required.Certifications are not required at the time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement.
