About Exploring Scholar
Exploring Scholar is a thriving K–12 enrichment center where educators lead and administrators support. We've built a culture where teachers do what they do best—teach—while our team manages recruitment, scheduling, and parent engagement. Our modern North York facility attracts educators seeking autonomy, collaboration, and purposeful work.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a passionate English Language Arts teacher to guide small groups and individual learners through the joy of reading, writing, and critical thinking. If you love helping students discover their authentic voice as writers and develop sophisticated literary analysis skills, this role offers the perfect blend of instructional freedom and professional support.

What You'll Do
- Teach the Full ELA Spectrum: Deliver dynamic instruction spanning foundational phonics and reading comprehension through advanced essay composition, literary theory, and university-prep analysis
- Personalize Instruction: Adapt your approach for younger learners building confidence and vocabulary, and for high school seniors mastering research essays and sophisticated critique
- Cultivate a Love of Literature: Help students engage meaningfully with North American texts and develop genuine appreciation for the written word
- Build Writers: Guide learners through the writing process—from brainstorming through revision—developing clarity, voice, and critical thinking
- Assess & Respond: Provide detailed, constructive feedback on written work and reading comprehension that helps students grow
- Leverage Technology: Use our digital classroom tools to enhance in-person learning experiences and create engaging lessons

Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Education, or related Humanities discipline
- Proven Multi-Level Teaching: Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring ELA across elementary, middle, and high school (Grades 3–12)
- Writing & Analysis Mastery: Strong proficiency in academic writing, composition pedagogy, and literary criticism; demonstrated in interview
