We support young people living in our housing programs by offering individualized, youth-driven services that address both immediate needs and long-term goals. Through holistic supports focused on self-sufficiency, community integration, and skill-building, we empower youth to successfully transition to and sustain independent living.

Position Profile

The Employment and Education Supervisor is a key leadership role that is focused on supporting the most marginalized and vulnerable youth across the Region of Peel. The incumbent will empower and guide youth towards self-sufficiency by helping them access employment and educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

- Empower and guide youth towards self-sufficiency by helping them access employment and educational opportunities.




- Provide 1:1 support to support skills development as it relates to employability and educational attainment.
- Enhance partnerships with employment and education community support services to ensure success of the program.
- Assist youth in accessing employment resources, educational programs, and vocational training opportunities.
- Advocate on behalf of youth within the community to promote inclusion in educational and employment opportunities.
- A role model in promoting a healthy and secure environment, while maintaining process, procedure and policies for all safety requirements and emergency procedures.
- Compile statistical information and prepare monthly reports as required for program evaluation and development.
- Participate on committees and task forces as required with other agencies addressing issues facing youth.
- Ensure that professional standards are maintained as related to client documentation and case management.
- Foster a positive and supportive working environment.
- All other duties as required in the successful management of program operations while partnering with all stakeholders in support of organizational success.

Qualifications:




- Degree in Social Services or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 3-4 years of experience along with 1-year supervisory experience working within the social service sector specifically with youth and/or providing education/employment counselling or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A leader with excellent communication, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills with a passion for supporting the most vulnerable and marginalized youth in our community.
- Flexibility to work in a 24-hour, 7 days a week operation, while supporting an on-call rotation.
- Knowledge of resources and supports for youth and exposure to Region of Peel resources.
- Experience addressing the needs of homeless clients, including making referrals to community agencies.
- Cultural competency sensitivity and commitment to working through an EDIB, anti-oppressive, anti-racism framework.
- A valid Ontario’s full G Driver’s Licence is required, with a clean driver’s abstract. A $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is also mandatory.
- Valid CPI and/or UMAB and First Aid/ CPR certifications.
- Completion of a successful Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check will be a condition of employment.

Salary: $58,000 - $65,000 CAD
