Embark on a valuable internship as a Transit Planning Intern with the City of Mississauga, working from January to April 2027. Support transit service evaluations through data analysis and design recommendations.
This temporary internship role requires full time students in related post-secondary programs. You will collaborate with the Transit Planning team to conduct statistical analyses and assess existing services for improvement. Your responsibilities will also include on-site visits, ridership surveys, and special projects, emphasizing cost-effectiveness in transit services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct statistical and economic analyses for service improvement
• Assist in developing recent transit route recommendations
• Analyze ridership data for existing route changes
• Perform on-site assessments of transit routes and stops
• Contribute to special projects as assigned
Requirements:
• Enrolled full time in geography, planning, or related fields
• Proficient in MS Office and data analysis tools
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of public transit principles
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours
