We're seeking a contractor ESL teacher to deliver engaging lessons to students of varying levels and ages, both in-person at our Calgary location and online. This includes general ESL instruction as well as CELPIP and IELTS exam preparation. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives on a flexible schedule and enjoys evening and weekend teaching hours.

Responsibilities

- Deliver ESL lessons to individuals and/or small groups, both online and in-person
- Provide CELPIP and IELTS test preparation, covering all four skill areas (listening, reading, writing, speaking)
- Adapt lesson plans to suit different proficiency levels and learning goals
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a professional, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents (where applicable), and centre staff

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree (Education, English, Linguistics, or related field preferred)
- Proven experience teaching ESL/EFL to adult and/or youth learners




- Experience teaching CELPIP and/or IELTS preparation strongly preferred
- TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Comfortable teaching both in-person and via online platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable availability during evenings and weekends
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Schedule

- Evenings and weekends (specific hours to be discussed based on availability)
- Flexible, contract-based hours

- In-person: Calgary, AB
- Online: Remote-friendly for virtual sessions
