Part-time Prep Cook at Thermea Spa Village Whitby We have taken the spa experience and transformed it into a wellness village. Reporting to the Sous Chef, the Prep Cook exemplifies and positively influence the kitchen culture as set by organization standards. The incumbent prepares dishes ordered by customers in a quick and effective manner, while respecting established standards; works closely with the service team to provide excellent service and memorable customer experience. The Cook also performs other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot & cold menu item plates in accordance with corporate standards.

Inspect, clean and maintain food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices





- Ensure food is stored, prepared and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, roasters and other kitchen equipment
- Know, understand and comply consistently with the restaurant’s standards, rules, policies and procedures
- Portion, arrange and garnish food, according to Thermëa standard portion sizes, recipe specifications and plate specifications
- Assist in food prep assignments for designated station during off-peak periods as needed
- Open or Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations and assist in other closing activities
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant
- Two (2) years experience is a similar position, an asset
- Culinary Diploma from a creditable school, an asset
- You will work a varying schedule which requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays Weekend availability is required Hourly rate $22.75 - $25.75 Accommodations are available upon request for candidates throughout the hiring process.
