The City of New Westminster is seeking enthusiastic instructors for its 'Learn to Skate' program, available from October 13 to December 17, 2026. Candidates must work Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, with opportunities to lead public skate sessions. Successful applicants will possess strong skating backgrounds, use effective coaching skills, and create engaging lesson plans for participants aged 2.5 years and up.
Key Responsibilities: • Instruct skating in the 'Learn to Skate' program • Lead public skate sessions effectively • Prepare and execute daily lesson plans • Provide written evaluations of student progress • Maintain a fun and safe learning environment
Requirements: • Strong background in ice skating • 16 years of age or older • Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certificate • Teamwork skills in a recreational setting • Explicit Police Information Check required
