General Accountability The Facility Manager / Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all facility operations, building systems, utilities, maintenance programs, and capital projects within a beverage packaging manufacturing plant. This position ensures that plant infrastructure, production support systems, and facility assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role combines hands-on facility management with project leadership responsibilities, including planning, budgeting, executing, and commissioning facility improvements, equipment installations, production line expansions, and sustainability initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance & Engineering, Quality, Safety, and external contractors to support production goals and long-term business objectives.

Facility Management

- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all plant infrastructure and building systems.
- Manage utilities, including boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, water treatment systems, and electrical distribution systems.
- Ensure facility reliability to support continuous manufacturing operations.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility assets.
- Coordinate facility inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, and food manufacturing regulations.
- Manage facility budgets, operating expenses, and asset lifecycle planning.

Project Management

- Lead facility, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects from concept through completion.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans.
- Coordinate equipment installations, production line upgrades, facility expansions, and utility improvement projects.
- Manage project schedules to minimize production disruptions.
- Oversee contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout project execution.
- Conduct project meetings, track milestones, and prepare progress reports for leadership.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Support commissioning, startup, validation, and handover of completed projects.

Utilities and Building Maintenance Leadership

- Provide Leadership and direction to maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Establish maintenance priorities to maximize equipment reliability and plant uptime.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI"s) including:
- Utilities uptime.
- Utilities consumption.

- Utilities and building Maintenance costs.· Drive root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives

- Support continuous improvement programs focused on reliability and operational efficiency.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

- Promote a robust safety culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
- Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, contractor safety, and permit-to work programs.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, environmental, and corporate standards.
- Lead facility emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
- Participate in audits and regulatory inspections.

Budgeting & Financial Management

- Prepare annual facility and capital budgets.
- Develop cost estimates and business cases for capital projects.
- Monitor project expenditures and operational costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, energy efficiency, and asset optimization.
- Manage procurement of maintenance services, equipment, and facility-related contracts.

Continuous Improvement & Sustainability

- Identify opportunities to improve facility performance and operational efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Develop sustainability programs focused on:
- Energy reduction
- Water conservation
- Waste reduction
- Environmental compliance
- Implement reliability-centered maintenance practices.

Vendor & Contractor Management

- Select, manage, and evaluate contractors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements.
- Ensure contractors meet safety, quality, and performance requirements.
- Coordinate vendor support for specialized projects and maintenance activities.

Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain facility and project documentation.
- Prepare reports on facility performance, maintenance activities, and project status.
- Maintain equipment records, drawings, permits, and compliance documentation.




- Present project updates and facility performance metrics to senior management.

Requirement·

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering,
- Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Technical diploma with significant related experience may be considered.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) is preferred.
- CAPM (Certified associate in project management) is preferred
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) is preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred
- Health & Safety certification is preferred
- Facility management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience within beverage, food processing, packaging, consumer goods, or related industries preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and facility upgrades.
- Experience leading maintenance teams and contractor management.
- Proven budget management experience.

Technical Skills · Strong understanding of industrial facility systems, including:

- Boilers
- HVAC systems
- Refrigeration systems
- Compressed air systems
- Electrical distribution systems
- Water treatment and wastewater systems
- Knowledge of packaging manufacturing equipment and production support systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
- Understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
