This is an Internal ICBC job Posting. ICBC has a permanent, full-time prospect for a Health & Safety Specialist . The successful candidate will provide technical guidance on workplace safety, injury prevention, first aid, and emergency preparedness programs while supporting compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
This position is currently located at ICBC’s Head Office in North Vancouver; Advise leaders and employees on workplace safety legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices. Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations. Develop and maintain safety, injury prevention, first aid, and emergency preparedness programs.
Support safety committees and coordinate workplace safety initiatives. Develop and deliver safety training, procedures, manuals, and supporting materials. Work with WorkSafeBC and internal partners to address safety concerns and ensure compliance.
Support emergency planning, response coordination, reporting, and continuous improvement. A related post-secondary degree and a certificate or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Several years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, standards, and WorkSafe BC requirements.
Experience with workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety programs. Ability to travel occasionally within British Columbia.
Occupational First Aid
Level 2 certification or current equivalent.
Assets
Experience in a large, multi-site, unionized, or public-sector organization.
Experience supporting safety committees, first aid programs, or emergency management.
Experience developing safety training and working with WorkSafeBC. If you do not receive a confirmation within 4 hours of submission, please contact the People Service Centre immediately. At ICBC, it’s our job to make sure the car insurance system works for all British Columbians, today and in the future. Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 2 days per week at your primary office headquarters, subject to operational requirements. The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
